Starting from July 2024, according to government regulations, filters and water purifiers must comply with BSMI's "Technical Specifications for Water Quality Testing of Filter (Purifier) Products for Drinking Water," undergoing comprehensive water quality testing to assess the dissolution of 9 heavy metals, 15 volatile organic compounds, and a total of 24 analytes.
BSMI water quality testing includes:
Heavy Metals: Arsenic, Lead, Selenium, Chromium, Cadmium, Barium, Antimony, Nickel, Mercury
Volatile Organic Compounds: Trichloroethylene, Carbon Tetrachloride, Dichloromethane
Products must pass through layers of inspection before they can be sold.
